Nuclear Science & Engineering

Ph.D. Nuclear Science and Engineering, Idaho State University (2013)

At Oregon State since 2016.

LaBrier earned his doctorate in nuclear science and engineering form Idaho State University in 2013. He joined NSE after serving as a post-doctoral fellow at the University of New Mexico, with research focusing on the effects of corrosion on the emergency core cooling system for pressurized water reactors (PWR) during loss of coolant accident scenarios, under guidance provided by the Nuclear Regulatory Commission.

His primary research at Oregon State focuses on the behavior of reactor-grade materials under extreme environments. He will initially focus on the occurrence of critical heat flux during power transient events using the Transient Reactor Test Loop (TRTL).
